We've finally been able to do a cosplay shoot again!
This is just a trial shoot of sorts since our Hakuouki group isn't complete yet and our costumes still need adjustment, but it was great getting back to doing this! And... yyyeah so we did otome game cosplay, hahah. The character designs and artwork were too good for us to pass this up, especially since we've always been fascinated by the Shinsengumi.
I wanted to try something a bit different this time — to compose our shots to look like illustrations. For this shot, our inspiration was artwork (both official and fanart) in which gravity does not seem to exist.
To achieve this look, we had three of our friends tossing my scarf and the bandana straps around while Kat took the photo. As you might imagine, background cleanup was a lot
of work! And the outtakes for this are hilarious and failtastic.
This was great practice though, and I look forward to trying my hand out at this some more.

I held the sword with my left hand because Saito was apparently depicted as left-handed in this game/anime. It's also been said that the real Saito Hajime was left-handed, but it's all speculation as far as I know.
