Artist's Comments

I had dreamt of a world that no one else could have seen
In the spreading darkness I exchanged vows of revolution
Dreams turn into ideals
And I threw away everything that I didn’t need
Like the feelings that dwell in my heart

Still in the rift between reality and ideals
Even if my feet are bound by shackles of sacrifice
My overflowing impulse cannot be repressed because
I have a heart that yearns powerfully

Lies
Fear
Vanity
Grief
I won’t be weak enough
To be apprehended by these forms of negativity
I am a trickster who knows no loneliness

Someday, I'll show you a brilliant world

- KIRA

An attempt at Kira's manifesto. Phrases taken from the songs "Alumina" and "The World" by Nightmare, from the Death Note soundtrack (though rearranged and modified by me). Translated to English, of course.

:bulletred: edit :bulletred: There seems to have been a bit of confusion so let me say that that's me in the photo. I'm a real person! I do look rather unreal in this shot, but that's because of ~littlesailboat Sandra's insane photography skills. The blurring was an effect of her choice of lens, not editing. And red light = <3 Hohoho~

:bulletred: note :bulletred: Gah, I'm so sorry for those who might be offended or any way affected by the title and nature of this photo and the fictional manifesto. I'm not from the US, and I don't really watch the news so I knew absolutely nothing about the VA Tech shooting when I submitted this! Oh man, talk about a bad case of synchronicity. I found out about it right before I made this edit. I am so sorry. But please know that this is not a political statement of any sort. It's really just a cosplay photo dedicated to the anime/manga Death Note.

This is my last Death Note submission for a while. But we decided not to completely retire our Death Note project just yet. There are still a lot of scenes we wanted to reenact in our photos, and a lot of ideas we weren't able to execute. But we'll be taking a little break from it for now.

On behalf of the Tuxedo Team, I'll say this: We love you guys. We can't thank you enough for the amount of support you've been giving. As Miguel had said, your sincere comments and notes are such nice things to come home to after a stressful day. We just have so much fun at our photoshoots, and the additional reward of knowing we've made other people happy or inspired them with what we do is just... wow.

And it's just amazing how many notes we've received from people who've thanked us for sparking their interest in Death Note. It's the least we can do to thank Ōba Tsugumi for bringing such a brilliant piece of work into the world.

Nice touch on the eye's color, and the blurred background actually makes it better in my opinion. The model as well, perfect execution. The exerpt fit this perfectly.

Also, sry to bother, but how did you get the lettering to look like that? The type writer wording that is.

Please and thank you.
