Best viewed if you've read the manga until Chapter 615! This might be confusing if you're not familiar with the context.

To give a little background (if you don't mind spoilers):

Neji sacrificed his life to shield Naruto and Hinata from the Ten-Tailed Beast's rain of wooden spikes. ~~Masashi Kishimoto makes this very painful by using the headline: "The battlefield... becomes Neji's grave" WHY JUST WHY~~

As Naruto mourns the loss of his friend, Obito takes the opportunity to taunt him.

"I definitely won't let you kill my comrades!" ...Was that what you were muttering? Now, look around you. AND TRY UTTERING THOSE WORDS AGAIN!

The realization of this moment should hit you like a ton of bricks
As your comrade's corpse gradually loses its warmth
THE FINALITY OF DEATH!
Let me ask you, Naruto. What's left in this reality for you?

Naruto is about to crack, but Hinata breaks through his despair and reminds him why everyone is still fighting, and what Neji gave his life for.

(The last frame is just my interpretation of what might be a transition to Bijuu Mode because I am physically incapable of bursting into a glowy being of light)

The three of us cosplaying for this shoot had a great attachment to Neji, so we wanted to do this shoot to say goodbye to an old friend. This is also the first time we've attempted something so emotional, so it was definitely a break from the norm.

I'm debating whether to share the goofy stuff that happened behind this shoot, if only to cheer up those of you who had such sad and emotional reactions towards this set. I just don't know if it would ruin your perception of the photos. hahah.

In response to everyone who had violent reactions upon reading those chapters about Neji's death — I too am heartbroken that one of the Konoha 11 has been taken. I did not expect Neji to be the first of them we'd have to say goodbye to. I had hoped that he would be one of those who would survive and have a happy ending, after all he's been through. My only consolation is that in those final moments he seemed peaceful, and that he seemed to finally understand his father's decision.

That's it for now. We will have a (somewhat) happier shoot coming up!

Damn it. I was ok with Neji, one of my fave characters, not being around anymore. Then I find this and you pull up all the feels. I gotta go cry into my pillow now. That aside, awesome job. I always enjoy you guys' work. I honestly think you are the best cosplay team ever.
