Second of the selections I'll be uploading from the Le Petit Prince project, which you can read about more here: [link]
Part of my objectives for the photo series was not to just make accurate recreations of the illustrations, but also to present alternative takes on the characters. During the project presentation and defense, this was one of the panelists' favorites - a different look at the Geographer from Chapter XV.
I had long decided that my friend and fellow nighthawk Peter would make a great Geographer, but I wasn't able to get him to shoot with us at the studio. Luckily, ~b-e-c-k-y had this photo of him in her stock account that fit my vision for this photomanipulation.
As I've mentioned previously, I've already finished the entire book but I won't be posting most of the other pictures online. My class will be having an exhibit of our works at The Podium, from the 24th to the 28th of March. I'll have the book there on display, and put up some large prints in the gallery as well. I'll update you guys with more exhibit details when I get them.

Always remember that happiness can be found in the darkest of places, if only one remembers to turn on the light - Albus Brian Percival Wulfric Dumbledor
This is fantastic! You can almost see into his thoughts, like he's getting lost in his creations. The colors are very appropriate and altogether it's a fantastic twist on the character.
This is a wonderful piece with all of the layers and a great model. It looks like the manipulation took some time to get everything perfect before posting this. I am a geographer and can relate to the character sitting around making maps. Thanks for posting this!
