It's kind of a tradition for us to follow a convention with a huge dinner afterparty, and AME was no exception. We were particularly happy because we managed to perform 
our first big group skit together. When we found out that we had actually won the group cosplay competition, we had an even better reason to have a Group 6 Naruto Shippuden Musical Rangers Bacon Party! Pictures are from Essa's and Gian's cameras!

In the big bowl is kimchi (a traditional Korean dish made of fermented vegetables with spicy seasoning), which we put on top of pizza. It's awesome. REALLY.

Jin vs. Inbox
Hey guys, I'm still losing the epic battle with my inbox. Especially my email inbox. I do my best to read everything and respond to what I can, but I'm particularly falling behind with notes and letters. 
Those require well thought-out replies, because you guys deserve better than a default "Thank you. 
" and as much as possible, I want to answer when I have time to sit down and really think about what I want to say. I'm sorry it's taking me so long!
Hero Con 2008: H3 Amped Edition
So we ended up going to Hero Con after all. 
We actually had other plans for the day but ended up having to cancel them at the last minute, so we went to check out H3 instead.
We were wondering which costume we should use, but decided against all of them in the end so that we could go around the con freely without having to pose for pictures. That's fun and all but it can get stressful and restricting. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever attended a con not in cosplay, so it was a first for me. 
I don't know what was up with some people, though. We overheard this (though spoken in Filipino):
Person 1: Why didn't they even bother to dress up?
Person 2: Maybe they don't have any new costumes. LOL.
Pardon me, but WE ARE NOT MASCOTS. We're not obligated to make a new costume for every event, and it's our choice whether we want to go in costume or not. We're not out to win competitions or impress anyone. Excuse us for cosplaying FOR FUN. Jeez. It's really sad when cosplay brings out the worst in some people.

That aside, it was great attending a con just as ourselves. Strangely enough, we'd still get asked for pictures, to which I'd often repy, "Are you sure? We're not in costume. [nervous laughter]" but everyone was really nice about it.
So yeah, for those who might have been wondering - I wasn't cosplaying anyone. 
I was wearing part of my ACP uniform from Year 4, when we had to do citizen army training. Our school was assigned to the Air Force (even though Aerospace Cadets of the Philippines makes us sound more like... astronauts). I saw it hanging in my closet and I got nostalgic, so I decided to wear it out. I had great memories from that year.
Unrelated side-story:
I signed up for special training to be a medic and was tortured by the officers along with my fellow trainees. Hahaha. One of them was Kat moonlightflight, who back then didn't really pay much attention to me. That may have partly been because despite the fact that I was training to be a medic, I ended up being treated by medics after every activity. Pathetic. 
In the end, I did manage to get admitted to the medic flight and spent the rest of the year helping treat my batchmates who'd collapse during training - including China snowpeachdrop who at one point somehow managed to sprain both of her ankles.
But gah, I'm pretty sure that I was mistaken a couple of times for an epic fail Alto Saotome (from Macross Frontier). I didn't know that Charmie yaoiangel14 would be dressing up as Sheryl Nome so they might have thought I was trying to be Alto by association, and because of the blue hair and uniform.
I must be boring you guys with this wall of text, so let's move on to the pictures! The day was spent mostly doing our favorite con game: Photobombing! For those of you who might not know - photobombing is sneaking into the background of other people's pictures and ruining them by doing a stupid face and/or pose. Disjointed Little Musings
Well, okay, not really musings this time, but ramblings to accompany the snapshots I took of my toys.

The amount of little things strapped to my phone is starting to become ridiculous. A bunch of them are gifts I really like (such as Shenron the DBZ dragon from Kiks

snowpeachdrop, and the dog tag with a bell that Aku
Akusesu gave me last Fanime), and I couldn't deide which one to use so I put ALL OF THEM. At least this way it'd be difficult for me to lose my phone.
I got this at a toy booth at Hero Con.
Miguel was getting an Ikki Tousen Figma when I spotted this. The girl handling the booth suddenly gave him a discount (hoho, I wonder why) so we got this practically for free. It's such a small thing but it made us happy because it reminded us of the Naruto and Sasuke pose we kind of abused last Fanime.
Though for most of the pictures I found, we were kinda switched, and I was holding my Rasengan instead of doing the Kage Bunshin hand seal while Miguel did a sort of Katon Jutsu stance.
And another with Big Chris (a.k.a. the legendary Black Gai) just because we miss him. And the whole US con experience, at that.
