Tuxedo Team Ozine Fest 2008 Experience
Ozine has always been fun and memorable for us. I think part of it is because it's usually held at the end of the schoolyear, and it's a great reward after all that work. 
This time we went as a Bleach group again. China snowpeachdrop was Rukia again, in her Shinigami clothes. Kat moonlightflight retained her role as Orihime, in her Hueco Mundo dress. Miguel merkymerx decided to be Grimmjow, and for the sake of relevance, I agreed to be Ulquiorra even though I wasn't entirely sure I'd be able to pull it off.
It was refreshing to be working on new costumes again. Miguel and I helped each other with our stuff. He constructed his own Grimmjow jaw. Then he made my bone helm, which looked awesome and was surprisingly light and comfortable to wear. In return, I dyed his Grimmjow wig; three layers of color - what a nightmare. My hands were tinted blue for a while. But it was worth it. Then we took turns wearing it while cutting and styling. We only regret that we weren't able to make the zanpakutos in time because of finals. Ah well, next time. Hopefully I get brighter green contacts, too. My current pair is barely noticeable.
It was great attending a con with China and Kat again. They certainly looked like they were having fun playing Rukia and Orihime. Grimmjow has become Miguel's favorite cosplay, because he can really act like himself (unlike with Sasuke). 
As for me.. It was certainly a challenge being Ulquiorra. He's pretty much my opposite. I'm usually loud and hyper, and obviously I couldn't act that way. I also nearly never wear anything white because I'm a messy eater and a bit of a klutz. And jeezus christ on a stick, all that gunk on my face. It took some practice to make myself look remotely like Ulquiorra. I have never worn so much makeup in my life. I even had to put the white stuff on my hands, in addition to the black nail polish. Here is what my makeup process was like. And the only pair of boots I found that I could turn into Arrancar shoes had heels on them. Not thin girly stiletto heels but heels nonetheless. I needed the height anyway, but gah, how troublesome. I would trip a bit sometimes, and Miguel would catch me, much to the delight of GrimmUlqui supporters. 
I'm looking at you, Kat moonlightflight and Isa sabotenshi.

For now.I'll continue the Ozine update when the rest of my friends upload more photos. It was one of our favorite con experiences (yet another Best Day Ever with these guys) but it left us completely exhausted so we couldn't go back for Day Two today.
If you're one of the people I accidentally whacked with my horn - I'm sorry. I don't do well with protruding appendages. Thanks to everyone who expressed appreciation for our cosplay, and to the people we were able to talk to and goof around with during the event. Always good to see old friends and meet new ones. Special thanks to a very sweet woman and her adorable daughter whom we had bubble tea with. We'll see you again soon!

photo by famousnobodyIt was supposed to be a group shot, but I think I disappeared into the back (I see my bone helm) because I was choking on my bottled water. I couldn't drink the normal way because it'd ruin my makeup. So I had to sort of... pour water into my mouth without letting the bottle touch my lips. Then to actually swallow the mouthful of liquid, I had to tilt my head back until the water found its way down my throat, but it just kept making me choke. I had to try, though. I was thirsty.

Don't mind us, we don't mean to offend. The whole flipping off thing is a bit of an inside joke. Having a little too much fun there, Grimmy.
Our favorite part of the day was just sitting down and having bubble tea with Ysabel
Ken-chan-Byakushi who was cosplaying Hunny-sempai (which made all of us want to hug her to pieces even more), and her mom Essa
Cyfliq. Too much went on that I can't find the eloquence to write about. Suffice it to say that they're our new favorite people, and that was one of the warmest, most touching experiences we've had as cosplayers.
Ulquiorra drinking royal mlik bubble tea. That's not something you'll see everyday. But really, it was about the only thing I could ingest without messing up the accursed makeup. I had extra bubbles and egg pudding put in it to deceive my stomach into thinking it's having solid food. I hope I didn't scare you, Ysabel!
We went back to the venue and stayed until pretty late. At one point we were all running out of energy and just lying around on a mat on the floor. There weren't a lot of people left by that time so we were able to just rest.
Here's Rukia getting a little grouchy. But the day was saved when Kel came up to us and taught us the Algorithm March. Wish we had taken pictures.

Truly delightful, the way that girl writes. She covered nearly everything - from the event misadventures, the tea party, all the way down to the end of the day where we ended up completely drained, sprawled on the floor of Miguel's home.
