LASIK (refractive laser eye surgery) - Is it safe? I heard that your vision can become less vibrant as a side-effect. Answers may be based on your own experiences or from accounts of people you know.

my brother had one just last month, and woah, he's sight is better and he doesn't need anymore glasses.. i wanted to try that, but if you intent to doing LASIK, i will give you an advice, don't use contact lens much if you want to get a LASIK, i just saying that, coz my bro got an irritation and he have to wait for at least 3month to do the LASIK thing-y
my 70 something year old grandma had it. she had very thick glasses before but now she doesn't even wear them.. ( I took the plastic protection glasses she used weeks after her surgery and I sometimes use it in front of my monitor lol!)
My mom got laser eye surgery, and i've pretty much forgotten about it until now. She doesn't complain about it (you should hear about her headaches xDDD) and i'm sometimes surprised that she even HAD glasses and/or contacts! Completely slipped my mind...sorry i got sidetracked. Anyways, completely safe and trustworthy.
it's safe, but after a few years my mom's eyesight had. . . difficulties.Sometimes the lasik can be. . undone, after a while, and so now, she uses mono-vision with one contact. We still think it's best she got it though. . .
uhmm a doctor told me that he wouldn't do it on a 10 years basic scale because it might be helpful for now but it won't be safely guaranteed for your lifetime... that was a personal opinion, i dunno.
