Alice and Rabbit's Shop has a new set of lenses and it's about time I replaced some of my older ones so I'll be talking about this new set! This series is called Cosplay Plus Lens.

:bulletblue: Store link: CosPlus Lenses on A&R Shop

The Cosplay Plus lens is a larger variant of Alice and Rabbit Shop's popular Cosplay Lens series.
You may read my review of the Cosplay Lens series HERE

Let's take a look at one of my favorites from the Cosplay Plus set, which I'll now refer to as CosPlus. Here's a look at CosPlus Grey:

The pattern is very similar to the original Cosplay Lens, however they differ greatly in diameter.

Cosplay Lenses — 14.2 mm
CosPlus Lenses — 14.8 mm

0.6 mm might not seem like a lot, but for something tiny like a contact lens, the difference is significant.

For your reference — My natural eye color is very dark brown. They practically look black except when strong light hits them.

Sorry about the quality of this photo; I took this as the sun was going down. But it's enough to illustrate the difference between CosPlus and the original Cosplay Lenses.

1. CosPlus has a larger diameter, so it makes the eyes appear larger as compared to the Cosplay Lens which is closer to the iris' natural size.
2. CosPlus has a larger space in the center which allows your natural eye color to come through. For people with naturally dark eyes (like me) it gives the illusion of large pupils. Cosplay Lens has a smaller center space, which will conceal practically all of the natural eye color.
3. Both are striking, clearly visible light greys, but the Cosplay Lens has a lighter and more intense color. I think it's a pretty good lens for a more natural take on Byakugan.

In terms of cosplay, they might be suitable for different kinds of characters. When choosing lenses, I observe the way characters are drawn.

I will be using CosPlus Grey for Deidara, based on how he looks in the anime.
Notice how his pupils are large. While his data says his eyes are blue, I personally feel that blue lenses are usually too bright for his eye color. I think they meant something like blue-grey, like the eye color of some naturally blue-eyed people.

Meanwhile, I used the Icy Grey Cosplay Lens for my cosplay of the Protagonist / Yu Narukami from Persona 4
He has very intense, light grey eyes with small pupils.

That's how I choose to do it anyway. :) You don't need to follow this, but I wanted to share anyway!

Anyway, back to the lenses!

Here is how the CosPlus Grey lenses look on me.

Phone snapshot to show that even without advanced camera settings and fancy lighting, they are quite visible.

I thought I'd throw in this shot of how they look with direct sunlight.

The next color is CosPlus Golden. Here are some photos to show the lens pattern, which is quite nice.

Creepy closeup under harsh lighting, just to show the pattern clearly. The dark brown in the center is my natural eye color.

Photo taken with some diffused sunlight near a window. This photo shows the halo effect this lens gives on the bottom part (that crescent shape in which the color looks slightly lighter)

Golden hazel-colored lenses used to frustrate me because other lenses tend to be too brown or banana yellow. Alice and Rabbit's hazel is fantastic for golden-eyed characters. Bright enough to be more than brown, but not like unnatural yellows.

I think these would be excellent for cosplaying Ryota Kise from Kuroko no Basket

Others examples include Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, Alto from Macross Frontier and Yoko from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

They are still very visible at a moderate distance

Shows up very well on my phone snapshots, too

Not all lenses in this series are quite the same, it seems. The next color is CosPlus Blue.

The pigment in CosPlus blue seems more transparent than the other lenses in this series, which keeps it from being a very bright blue all throughout. As you might be able to tell from my photo, most of my eye looks like a darker blue than usual.

However, the glowing crescent effect at the bottom is more prominent compared to the CosPlus Grey and CosPlus Hazel.

I think they still do look nice, but you shouldn't expect them to be as intensely visible as other colors in the CosPlus range.

I imagine these lenses would probably suit characters with large, dark blue eyes such as Sailor Neptune.

Here is a comparison between CosPlus Blue and Crystal Max Blue, which is my current favorite for cosplaying characters with bright blue eyes such as Naruto.

Here's how they look when worn. Crystal Max Blue comes out a much lighter and brighter shade.

The next color is a similar case: CosPlus Turquoise

Turquoise is one of my favorite colors, and this is such a beautiful shade. I don't usually come across turquoise lenses. However, this is not for people with dark eyes who are expecting a very bright color. I feel like it might look nice on those with lighter blue or green eyes, though.

Here's how they look when not in an extreme close-up. They blend into my dark eyes so they're not as vibrant as  the others. I think they'd be beautiful lenses if you were to do a portrait shoot with ample lighting, or would like to use them as everyday lenses.

The effect is subtle but I think they look quite nice.

It's such a beautiful, unusual color! They also give that glowing crescent effect at the bottom.

And I'm sorry for my face again, but I need to show how their overall effect ^^;

The last color I'll cover for this set is CosPlus Violet. The question is — WILL IT BLEND?

Just see for yourself  These are outstanding violet lenses. Violet is a dark color on the intensity scale so my experience with violet lenses in the past was that they'd just blend into my eyes and look like a muddy brown. I'm looking at you, FreshLook These however, are in a light lavender color that really stands out.

Will they show up on my phone? Yup!

Even in slightly backlit conditions, they're visible.

Here is a comparison between CosPlus Violet and Crystal Max Violet

1. Although they are both listed as having a 14.8mm diameter, the CosPlus lens looks larger to me. Maybe it's got something to do with the design, or perhaps the CosPlus really is slightly larger.
2. They are pretty much tied in terms of color intensity.
3. The large pupil makes CosPlus look more kind and innocent.

It makes me think of a certain character. Who has large, kind, lavender eyes?

Kenshin!

I think I'll start using these lenses for when I cosplay anime Kenshin. Let's practice:

Hahaha!

The CosPlus Lenses are currently limited on stocks because Alice and Rabbit weren't sure if a lot of people would like them. That's also why they don't readily come in prescription just yet. If there is enough interest for them, perhaps that will change!

If you like the CosPlus Lenses, let Alice and Rabbit know on their Facebook page! Or you could also drop a comment here and I'll ask them to take a look here. :D

Okay so I'll end this with some basic info about the CosPlus Lenses:
:bulletblue: Only available non-graded for now
:bulletblue: You can use them for 1 year after you've opened the vials
:bulletblue: FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING
:bulletblue: If you've never worn lenses before, get your go signal from an eye doctor before trying any!

Everything here is my honest opinion! I wasn't paid or anything to do this. I just wanted to share. :)

Thanks for looking! As always, sorry about so many pictures of my face! I don't particularly enjoy looking at myself staring right back at me on my computer screen but what can I do

I've got a bunch of other updates coming up! May the universe grant me time and energy to post about them! I hope you'll stay tuned! Until the next update, see you!
